Future Skills Training Company has launched an initiative to qualify the workforce of the hospitality sector, offering three fully free training tracks with accredited certificates, with no registration fee and no certificate fee.

The three tracks

The initiative covers the most in-demand occupations in the restaurant, café and hotel sector:

  • Culinary arts — from knife and preparation skills to cooking and plating local and international dishes, together with food safety standards and managing work in the kitchen.
  • Food and beverage service — setting tables, the principles of service and tableware, and dealing with the guest in ordinary situations and in difficult ones.
  • Coffee preparation and service — from bean to cup: adjusting the grind and the extraction, preparing espresso and espresso-based drinks, latte art, and the customer experience.

Delivery details

Each track runs over two weeks at two hours a day, delivered remotely, with the option of a full on-site group for organisations. Each group takes 20 to 30 trainees, and everyone who completes the programme requirements receives an accredited certificate carrying a verification code.

Who can apply

The initiative is open to two groups:

  • Currently employed staff who started work in April 2026 or later.
  • Job seekers, provided an organisation commits to employing them in the same number as the members of the group.

The initiative also accepts applications from organisations wishing to nominate a group of their employees; the organisation submits a single application with its details and the number of places required, and the trainees’ details are collected in one list once the dates are agreed.

Applications are open now on the free programmes page and take no more than two minutes. The admissions team reviews every application and contacts the applicant to complete the nomination process.
